My Dell Laser 1700 has gone crazy!
A moment, with no warning, my Dell Laser 1700 stopped working. On the Vista Adroit in Basic, the printer is listed but every document -- including exam pages -- only returns an boob. On another machine, running Vista Institution Premium, the computer doesn't recognize the printer at all, even after the re-coronation of all of the driver software. And on another, running XP, the concern the printer is plugged into the USB port, the computer freezes, like you've hit a hesitation button; take out the plug, and XP runs again. I'm theory, "This is dead. Time to get another one." But before I burnt- another $150, I want to make unfailing there's nothing that can done. Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions?
BYW: I have restarted everything, switched USB cords, reinstalled drivers, and so on and so forth. I cannot reinstall the firmware because the auto check page (from pressing continue on the printer) doesn't roll a dedicated IP address -- no TCP/IP sector of the printout.
