Socket A rebuild!
It's yet for another über-1337 geekfest of computer system building! Today I'll be (re)erection a system using an ancient five year old “Socket A” computer processor!
But before we go any further...
Prudence! Do not attempt. Do not imitate. You can be injured or killed by the absent-minded manipulation or alteration of electrical components. Such repairs should only be done by capable technicians. I will not be held responsible for your actions, ludicrous or otherwise!
Oh yeah, where were we... 
I actually did this project back in Strut of this year, but I thought that I had accidentally deleted the images. In point of fact, I'm pretty sure the originals are gone, but I found these that I had edited for use here.
I also yen to admit that I spent way too much on this system. I could have gotten a acquainted with case, used memory, and a few other things at a regional computer junk shop and saved about $70. But this system is a hand-out to my kid brother, so go figure. ^_^;
This time around, I'm starting off with a new action, (which has a green faceplate, 'cause my bro is asinine like that), a new 1GB stick of (the now vintage!) DDR tribute, a cheapo flash card reader, and a very rare new Socket A motherboard. All of these items came to about $150 add up to. All of the other items are “recycled” out of my “litter” bins.
As for the processor, it's a workhorse I pulled out of a ring I was using back in 2003 or so. I found it the other day in an anti-static bag in the bottom of a box of garbage computer parts. Somehow it wasn't broken and still looked usable, so of despatch I used it!
